In honor of the world premiere of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, we’re featuring a special couple, whose love for the movie influenced their nuptials, right down the the cocktail menu! Melissa and Ethan were married at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, Calif. on February 22. The bride stunned in a ruffled one-shoulder ball gown with a sweetheart neckline. She carried a bright bouquet of roses, ranunculus, mums, billy balls, lisianthus, and hydrangeas. She wore her red hair in a delicate updo with a french braid wrapped around the side. The groom looked handsome in a black suit with a polka-dot vest and pink neck tie. The pair tied the knot outside in front of a modern sculpture and an arch featuring white drapery. A reception followed where guests enjoyed signature drinks inspired by Hunger Games characters. The tables featured sparkly gold linens with a turquoise table runner and ghost chairs. Tables weren’t labeled by numbers, but by district instead. A mockingjay gobo light was projected onto the screen and miniature floral globe vases filled the venue. Guests indulged in a two tier colorful fondant cake with flower toppers and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting. Photo booth props included a bow and arrow to recreate classic Hunger Games scenes. A sign was featured at the reception with the classic movie quote, “May the odds be ever in your favor.” See the full board here.
